Volunteer of the Month: Gena JacquesGena is a local ordained minister who generously gives her time and expertise to provide spiritual and bereavement support and counsel to hospice patients and families. Gena has the unique ability to help restore peace and quiet in stressful situations. Gena has experienced hospice care personally, and she says she is drawn to be a hospice volunteer to help people dealing with grief and loss. Why Gena says she loves hospice volunteering: “My love for volunteering is a response to the call to serve. Serving demonstrates love when words fail to touch the heart. Hugs, holding hands and just being present speak volumes. Love strengthens, encourages and brings peace. I am thankful for the exchange of benefits and rewards as we journey.
