Chaplain Anthony Hughes of Grove Park Hospice led a memorial service for staff and residents of The Oaks on Thursday, Nov. 9 in the Chapel of the Oaks. Phyllis Parker, Grove Park Hospice Community Educator, read the names of those residents who have passed on this year, and Anthony engaged the participants in a lively discussion of memories of each resident who passed on.
Following the discussion, Anthony praised the staff for the excellent care they provided and anointed their hands with oil in a special ceremony. Phyllis then presented participants with a poem and a cardinal to remember their loved ones by. After the service, Grove Park Hospice provided refreshments and engaged participants in a time of fellowship and support.
